Attorney Brett R. Galvan
Attorney Brett R. Galvan was raised in Hebron, Indiana, a small town nestled in the southwest corner of Porter County on the banks of the Kankakee river. The beauty of this rural town inspired him to begin writing at a young age. His Mother and Father are both retired Inland Steel Workers.
Galvan attended elementary and middle school in Hebron and later he attended Andrean High School. While at Andrean, Galvan found his passion and love for law and justice while studying under Fr. Joseph Lanzalaco.
In 1994, Attorney Galvan began working at Ford Motor Company Chicago Assembly. It was there that he learned the value of hard work, pride and integrity. He also learned the value of a dollar and what it means to hardworking people.
In 2007, after 13 dedicated years at Ford, Galvan left to pursue his passion of becoming an advocate for people in need. He enrolled at Purdue Calumet and received his Bachelors Degree in Education and his Indiana License to teach. Each semester at Purdue Calumet, Galvan received honors and was awarded the Deans List honors. After graduating from Purdue, he went on to Valparaiso University School of Law, where his focus of study was on litigation, criminal law, estate planning, and social security law.
While at Valpo, Galvan sought real world experience to best prepare him for the legal field. He clerked for the Indiana State Police, The Honorable Judge Julia Jent in Porter County Superior Court, The Lake County Public Defender, and the Law Office of Paul A. Rossi, LLC.
Currently, Galvan is a Lake County Public Defender in the Felony Division and the Attorney for the Town of Hebron. He has been married to his beautiful wife Heather for 20 years and has two children. He is a working musician and a published writer.
